This project began by identifying the unique qualities of wool and formulating how this can speak back to the modern issue of planned obsolescence and waste from the fashion industry. The result is a warp that was designed to encourage repair and reusability for sustainability-conscious consumers.
To integrate textile and graffiti, scrapbooking culture is woven into the final designs, bringing in the energy of public expression with craft. Each final sample expresses an aspect of this idea; to patch, stitch, felt and cut into clothing people deem as 'faulty'. This proposal ultimately tears down barriers of perfectionism that impact all of us globally on a sustainability level.
